Proofreading
Nothing is worse than finding a mistake in a beautiful, newly-printed publication. Except finding more than one.
That’s why our team includes a qualified and highly experienced proofreader. A member of the Society of Editors and Proofreaders, she also co-ordinates trusted freelancers from our roster when a job demands a larger team.
Our commitment to quality control means we routinely proofread our copy before it goes to our clients. But we are often specifically commissioned to proofread larger publications – ranging from the season’s catalogue for a fashion house to the 900-page London 2012 Olympic Candidate File, and countless annual reports and magazines in between.
What’s included in proofreading?
- 1. Checking for consistency – within the text and against client guidelines
- 2. Flagging up unintended repetition
- 3. Indicating where meaning is unclear or ambiguous
- 4. Correcting spelling and grammatical mistakes and typographical errors
