December 2010

Don't just report lead the thinking

If you don't have to produce an annual report, why do it? Leading global law firm Clifford Chance does it in the interests of business openness, and as part of its communication with current and potential clients and colleagues.

Recognising that these audiences have a limited appetite for traditional annual report content, the firm took a refreshing new tack in 2010. Rather than brag about its expertise, it decided to share some of what it knows. The meat of the report consisted of half a dozen essays on areas where legal and regulatory change is changing the game for businesses globally: anti-corruption legislation, competition law and the governance of financial institutions. Informative and thought-provoking, they give readers the benefit of insights from some of the world's leading experts.

We teleconferenced with Clifford Chance partners all over the world to research and write the essays. It's something we're increasingly accustomed to doing for a wide range of clients, as the demand for insightful thought leadership material continues to grow.
