Luxury hotel group hires Lang

Lang has won a contract to produce branding and marketing collateral for luxury hotel group Sankara. With its headquarters in Kenya, the group will open a five-star hotel in Nairobi in 2010. Others will follow in key gateway cities in East, Central and Southern Africa.

A team of Lang writers has been creating a brand voice and identity and a market positioning for the $30 million, 156-room Sankara Nairobi, and for the group as a whole.

“We’re focusing on a range of stakeholders,” explains writer Martin Beaver. “From investors and potential employees, to prospective guests for both leisure and business.

“So far we’ve produced the group’s vision, mission and values statements, as well as the pre-launch website, advertising copy, advertorials, signage and brand guidelines – all to tight deadlines."

Other clients from the retail, leisure and travel sectors have included BAA, Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and the Thomas Cook Group.

Lang is working in partnership with UK design agency Glazer Consulting on the Sankara contract.
